#laughingatbelowcomments on Jul 01, 2020:
The air quality in Perth is great, people are compaining about the wonderful quality of life they have in Perth. Imagine what it would be like of you were living in Kanpur India, it's PM2.5 is 173, ours it 8. You are bloody ridiculous.
#iliveinperth on Nov 14, 2019:
The only problem with Perth is the occasional Burn offs or fires but these are mainly completely natural and the air clears up fairly quickly. Please stop hating on this beautiful city because of natural or needed fires.

All of y'all are complaining about the air pollution. Yes its a bad issue and it needs to be solved, But if you think about it. If we did not have burn off imagine how many houses would be under threat if someone was to light it. Imagine what destruction that would cause. Imagine how many people might die. We also can't fix all the problems Perth has.If you also look at the time your shire or city is burning off you'll see that its in the time when burns are legal. Before you complain you should really have a look at why the government it's actions

It is now mid June and pretty much every week there is smoke in the air. This is getting ridiculous, why do those behind this think that they get to control our air quality and pollute it for everyone else.
Mr Wilson on Jun 06, 2019:
the air quality in perth started to decline rapidly under the previous conservative government with huge numbers of trucks coming on to our roads, and also due to the significant number of cars now on our roads. (which is not related to government so much)

I notice that none of you have addressed this fact? vehicle are a major source of polltion in cities yet you lot are banging on about burn offs.

Its just a shame that governements are unwilling to tackle thesee problems, and regrettably we now how a progressive government that pays lip service to the fossil fuel industry and is essentially a conservative apologist.

more regretbaly we just had the chance to get more electric vehicles on the road and reduce pollution but bogans and the greedy liberal voters provided a mandate for more of the same shit we've always had. and whats that you say? let me tell you: POOR OUTCOMES!
smoke inhalation on May 27, 2019:
It's now the 27th of May and CALM has been burning off for many months, can't see the trees 150 meters from my home again today. This government dept is out of control !

I think Perth's air quality is fine. Sure, we may have bushfires and dust, but it is natural.
Anonymous on Oct 29, 2018:
Perths air quality is poor. Government sanctioned bush burn offs continual. In addition to government activity private land holder burn offs also have currency. For anyone with sensitive airways living near the ocean is essential if you want to live in Perth. Much medical data supports permanent lung damage from such exposure notably Government compromise is the provision of a web site for public consultation of pisted prescribed bush burns. Life is cheap. In view that the local populous would carry "lung sensitive genes" from the genetic perspective its very poor governance. Both political have same policies.

Some of the comments here are embarrassing. Nothing wrong with the air quality. As for fires in summer, I bet the people commenting in here are the ones starting the fires.
Anonymous on May 23, 2018:
im getting so confused with the reviews on Perth lol, i would really like to visit Perth, but there are so many comments saying Perths pollution is horrible, and the other half saying there is nothing wrong with the air...

I admit Perth is a lovely place.
However I've had the worse respiratory attacks since living here than I ever did living in Hong Kong. Especially with the burn offs.
Arief Setiawan on Apr 01, 2018:
can't be worst than 3rd world. Here, we have pollutants from industrial and cigarette smokes, which you will find anywhere here in indonesia

Almost the whole year round i feel as though i cant breath and always have hayfever. Bushfire is an air pollutant by the way....and it's just as bad as any other. I dont get why ppl laugh. Its not a joke. My friend who has resp. Problems went to the er a few months back because of that smoke.

I live in Perth and for 1 week a year, yes the sky is sooty but this is from bushfires not pollution and in general Perth is an very clean city it is a first world city with very clean water and air, not "ash falling from the sky" stop whining and suck it up
