#actually, it's correct... on Mar 31, 2014 :
According to ABS's 6523.0 - Household Income and Income Distribution, Australia, 2011-12 (published Aug 2013): average equivalised weekly disposable household income in Western Australia is $1,017 (thus $4,068 monthly). Household (not individual) income is the most appropriate measure to use when assessing it against house prices. Also Perth's average income would be higher than the state's average income, so $4.5k/month seems appropriate.
