Depends on the specific area of Coquitlam. I'd say North Rd and Austin Ave are the "worst" areas as far as transient, poverty, crime, homelessness, etc., but many areas that are less accessible (i.e. Westwood Plateau, Burke Mountain) are virtually crime-free. I live in the High Street area just off Lafarge Lake Skytrain, and it's very clean, safe, and borderline transient-free (thanks to nearby City Hall and its large police station).

Compared to where I used to live in South Granville area of Vancouver, I can't believe how clean and safe it is for me and my young family in Coquitlam.

There has been so much gun violence in Coquitlam in 2021. It's extremely discouraging for families who bought into the area thinking it was safer than Vancouver and Burnaby.

Imagine trying to use google to find official statistics and having the first page filled with unreliable bs that any sub 80 IQ idiot can contribute towards

Doug us the one doing the crime so he wanna down play it so he dont get caught.

Crime rate in Coquitlam seems to go up every year. my house has been broken into as well as our vehicles. Caught a prowler few weeks back as well lurking around my house looking in the windows. Picked up a new shot gun so anybody tries to get in wont be getting out!

You definitely cannot leave your house and car unlocked in Coquitlam. Doug is completely naive and must be living under a rock. There's a ton of home break-ins and burglaries in Coquitlam, and that is not an exaggeration. My neighbour moved out after his car got broken into. My whole area has had a burglar come in to their house before. There were police chasing a robber just a few weeks ago. And this has been happening for years now.
