Metrotown has a few bums, some of them are users and at night I would avoid going into Central Park.
I think new west and Lougheed are worse then Metrotown every time I go to new west station i see an army of sketchy people lurking around.
Violent crime is rare in Burnaby, I’ve never even seen a fight in my 6 years living there.
But we all know the horrific case of 13 year old Marisa Chen who was raped and killed by a Syrian "refugee" that was in broad daylight and it happened in Central Park, he must have followed her and probably dragged her in the dense Forrest brush.
I don’t know of any other case that was so horrible.
To conclude, Burnaby is super safe but around Central Park and Metrotown can be sketchy.
