Wife and I are interested in moving to Phuket. We're both retired veterans with disability bringing in about $10K per month. We would like to live beach front. How feasible is this?

I’m interested in coming to Thailand and staying for several months at a time. I’d be interested in having a furnished apartment. I’m am a senior citizen and want to stay in a low crime area. Is the fishing good over there.

Spoke with locals here and they say 15000 bhat to 20000 bhat per Month per person is the cost of living for lower income group people like can drivers, waiters etc...

Been in Thailand for a while. Wife is local here in Phuket. Family of four, we own our own home so no mortgage and we own our vehicle so no car loan. We have a maid 1 time per week. We eat mostly local, 1 time per week western food. We spend 140,000 baht per month not including private school cost. Realistically if you want a middle/upper class lifestyle then you will spend around 5,500 USD “200,000 baht”. If you homeschool, only run AC at night time, ride a motorcycle or bicycle, only eat local and are thrifty when it comes to shopping then this numbeo estimate is accurate.

The “live in phuket for 1,000 usd” is true but its tough depending on your lifestyle. 1500usd per person is a good rule of thumb for most people.
