Mysore has many rapists and I was gangraped in the street at Udayaravi Road. Mysore has plenty of murders and smuggling and the police and media accept huge amount of bribe from the people.
Mysore is a worst place with plenty of dangerous crime such as murder, chain-snatching, pickpocketing, serial harassment, persecution, bullying and abusive mental torture.
The local Kannada people of Mysore are worst and uncivilized. I am staying in USA and will never want to visit Mysore again in my life.

Mysuru is safest place for living in city. And it's very dangerous place in mysuru that is bandiplaya ring road towards Columbia Hospital. There is no safety for people who travelled in bike and cycle. And police security is also a poor in that place so becare full while traveling on that side and avoid travel at night time.

As a woman living in Mysore, I'd say its rather safe living in mysore . I have no fear walking at night , only problem is corruption.

Every country in the world has a handful of extremists, religious extremists. This even includes the Atheist countries too. So this is nothing special about India, contrary to Anonymous' opinion. No country in the world is perfect. All of the countries have their fair share of problems and drawbacks. All the religions have their flaws and shortcomings, including Agnostics/Atheism. But unfortunately India is drifting away from the largest liberal democracy it once was in the past. This is a concern.

Mysuru is a paradise for Hindutva militants, exactly the same as Bengaluru. Both places are filled with Hindutva militants.

I was beaten up and assaulted by beggar gangsters yesterday in Mysuru. These beggar rowdies had slapped me multiple times and they stole my wallet. I complained to the Mysuru police, but they have scolded me.

Crimes against women such as rape, chain-snatching incidents are very common in Mysuru, but women are afraid of the police. The Mysuru police fully supports the gangsters and criminals. Being a woman from Bhogadi in Mysuru, I am also scared to report incidents to the police. The judges, advocates, police are all controlled by criminal politicians here in Mysuru.

As many others have correctly mentioned, the problem in Mysuru is that most violent crimes are not getting reported. Most of the people in Mysuru are afraid to approach the police and even doctors.
Hence most cases related to murder, gangrape, extortion and theft go unreported in Mysuru and also in Hubballi-Dharwad, Belagavi and Davangere.
Although crimes are very high in Mysuru, people here are very scared of the Police. The Media also hides the actual crime details.
Even for Covid-19 cases, most of the people take treatment at home. Most of the positive infections and deaths aren't recorded in Mysuru. The simple reason is again people are afraid of approaching the doctors, hospitals and healthcare. The doctors in Mysuru don't diagnose correctly and are very rude to the patients. Healthcare facilities are very bad here.
I am a Mysurean and have been living here for more than 40 years. I know this place very well. There is absolutely no trust between the police, common people and the doctors in Mysuru.

In Mysuru, most of the crimes do not get reported. Being a native of Mysuru, I know this fact. Also the 10 lane Mysuru-Bengaluru expressway will reduce the travel time to just 1.5 hours. With increased connectivity to Bengaluru, the crimes in Mysuru will certainly increase further.

I feel that Mysore much more safer than Bangalore. The people in Mysore are also much more helpful than Bangalore. Mysore is decent and has a long history, while Bangalore does not.
And one more thing, Mysore has many vegetarians and Mysore is a vegan-friendly, yoga-friendly city.
But I did not like the Bangalore-based Kannada media. They over-sensationalize the news stories and shout unnecessarily for no reason. We Mysoreans prefer a much more calm, relaxed softer version of Kannada media, unlike Bangalore based news channels.

Mysore is a very safe place. I am from Coimbatore and I have settled in Mysore since 8 years.
Mysore is an excellent place and the people here are very helpful and decent. The cost of living is very beneficial.
Lots of greenery is found along the Mysore-Hunsur-Periyapatna highway. It is very serene and beautiful.

Mysore is a safe place. It is a good place to retire. It is a peaceful and calm city.
I am living here since the past 23 years.
I like Mysore very much.
