Prague is not more dangerous than any other cities in Europe, that for sure. If you avoid typical dangerous places at night, then it is way safer than typical EU cities. Yes pickpocketers are on tour, drunks are typically british coming to the city for a cheap drink and weed, so if you avoid stag parties, you can be safe. Police is doing their police work and don’t mind being harsh, snowflakes be aware.
So, if you are sensitive, easily offended, stay in your house, if you are a normal person, you can travel safely as you would do with a grain of salt everywhere in the civilized world.

Pickpocketing is the biggest problem, mostly by people with "southern" look, ussualy works in gangs, always watch your belongings, bags in crowded areas, metro, malls, tram etc.
Otherwise very safe city.

Never leave your things unattended. I regret doing so, but I left my handbag unattended at the buffet in HH to get my plate for breakfast. When I came back, the bag was gone.

honestly not safe, i have been warned by my relative that there are a lot of pickpockets in prague, and ALWAYS bring up your bags. don’t leave them in your car. although the shopping bags were covered in my car, the back of my car was smashed and broken into. was robbed of about 12k+ worth of things. ATROCIOUS. the audacity the people have here.

Lived in Prague for 22 years and never had a problem. Not saying it is perfect, but certainly I would feel safe walking around at night alone, as I have done many times.

Prague is a very safe place. I live here 10 years. You probably won't meet any drug dealers now. But even if you will, you won't feel unsafe, even drug dealers are polite here.

Prague is very safe just Waclaws square and around train station in crazy dangerous but during night .also pick pockets a lot .Bratislava is much much much more safe but on th end Praque and Bratislava r millions miles more safe thane German city’s where migrants make such a lot of problems :(

I spent 4+ years living in Prague. It is very safe city to live in. It's true that there is lot of petty thefts like pickpocketing and scams, but that's all. Biggest problem is probably corruption, otherwise crimes like assaults, armored robbery etc is almost none existing, at least in Prague. I would recommend Prague when it comes to the safeness.

The pick pockets in Prague are not subtle. Even when you give them a proper eyeball fucking they still try to approach you.

We were all fairly drunk, just walking around the city, being friendly. As we walked down the street, a group of locals approached us and one went in for a friendly hug and I, being drunk and friendly, went with it. I felt him reach into my back pocket for my wallet. Luckily I keep my wallet in my front pocket when I travel so there was nothing there, but I felt this and immediately pushed him away and started yelling.

Some gangs are selling drugs and most streets aren't safe at night. be careful.

The police have to be the most incompetent, and unpolite people i've met. I got robbed in my hotel and they did NOTHING. Some asian tourists were robbed as well. Pickpockets are EVERYWHERE and the city is dirty.

I've been living in Prague for two years and been in the streets, in pubs, and public transport day and night. Despite of the "danger" to meet drunken and therefore sometimes offensive people from every parts of the world it is safe. You have to bear in mind that this city is party paradise of Europe as nowhere else alcohol is so cheap and drugs are so easy to reach. But yes, I have to agree with Reggie in a certain way as Czech people are aware of the wealth gap between them and westerners. And, although it's going better and better every year there are still people who are going to find their way to cheat you. But hey - my Jewish Granfather said: "ignorance has to pay taxes!"

thats not truth, here in Prague a woman cannot walk in the night alone without meeting stalkers, junkies, perverz people etc. Many times I have been walkin in the night some junkies wanted to beat me because of the way I look or I met some guy masturbating in the bus station and I am not the only one who has that expirience, many inhabitants can approve this what I am saying!
