I have been taking a look at these rankings because i heard that Numbeo team usually shook them up right before the mid year updates to fit their agenda, and i have found it to be true, an user uploaded the rankings 12h ago which has been sitting still for atleast a month. Remember Numbeo clears bot entries in a 24h window. And i also have a screenshot on the december 13 which shows the rankings being the same, so it can only be manual work. And as of today the rankings are completely different, be careful with that website they change the rankings right before mid year updates to fit their agenda. Especially pushing UK cities which if we compare crime rates, some shouldn’t be top 5-10. While also deliberating hiding cities like Rennes and Charleroi.

Sure Napoli's is a lovely place but I was staying in a hotel for a school trip and there were 2 our of the 3 nights that people got caught with cocaine and crack and the police just let them go!!!

@Claudius Sure it is, no guns are there in Italy and most murders in the US happens between gangs, but for pickpocketing and robberies US has less.

According to the Italian police, the most dangerous city is Milan, Turin third, Rome fifth, Florence seventh and Naples tenth. Somehow Naples got a bad reputation, mostly due to the envy of Italians of the north, but actually it is the safest big city in Italy.

We spent a week in September and stayed in the Spanish Quarter. At no time did we feel unsafe. Common sense is not to stagger home at 3am but we still went out in the evening to enjoy a meal and a drink without feeling threatened. Bad things can happen anywhere. Naples is a vibrant city. Loved it.

Naples was a travesty in the 40s and 50s and still is.

Lol, people staying around the station to go to Sorrento, Capri or Amalfi and their "perception" of the "city".
This website is a joke

this place is based on perception
and many people stayed for a day or never
You should read at ITALIAN POLICE REPORT INSTEAD
NAPOLI IN 2020 was number 25th in ITALY for crime !
that is the reality the rest are words

This made me laugh. These statistics are based on "perceptions" of people who maybe weren't even there. Naples is 18th in Italy by crime rate according to POLICE RECORDS and its murder rate is WAY WAY WAY lower than any major US city.

I think Naples is the unsafest city in Italy. Being raised there I have had many experiences directly and indirectly of unsafe situations during day and night. Too many attempts of robbery, car theft and violent gangs driving their motorbike on the sidewalks without helmets. Unbelievable it is italy.
