This is just a meaningless report in context to the real incidents in the country which are mostly unreported . As a resident of the kingdom, we usually gets encountered by armed robberies which are not at all regulated by the corrupt police department .

I've been living here for the last 36 months. this city is getting worst. the whole southern part is unsafe during day and dangerous during night. The city is full of corruption and you have to pay for every thing otherwise you will get nothing. life here is so irritating and pushes your nerves to the max. the locals are rude and negligence. they rarely consider other people or nationalities, in fact they think they are super humans. Prostitution is very common but in a hidden way, expats are exposed to abuse, if you don't pay then I will claim that you touched my ass!!!
common to get flashes of papers with phone numbers for saudi women and men looking to be fucked in secret.

Jeddah is a very safe city.I am living here since 14 years. There are No gangs or ghettos overhere. If your car is cheap costing around 2,000$ it may get stolen in some poor neighborhoods and stuff may get stolen so dont keep your personal valuable stuff in sight. You will never get physically attacked. There is a high risk you may get insulted while driving your car.The drivers overhere are crazy and dong get surprised if you see car accidents on daily basis.

People with fear tend to live in very corrupted neighborhoods where poverty strikes immigrants. The only thing one should be concerned for is not to leave the car turned on and unlocked, or any other matters unattended.

Regarding to physical attack, the police is very strict toward that, following zero-tolerance-for-violence. Regarding to utilizing weapons, the country does not permit the purchase nor the carriage of fire-arms, even if it was legally licensed via government agency, MOI. licensed fir-arms are only for home reservation.

Pertaining to prostitution, it is common, but crime behind is almost negligible. Newspapers allowed to mention correct information pertaining to crimes on street do not usually report such occurrences. So it is difficult to estimate the level of safety away from personal experience.

There might be some statistical data available on agencies' websites, but talking from personal experience, I have never been pickpocketed, robbed, attacked, nor offered prostitution. This statement comes from a person who walks on foot during the days and nights as he does not prefer using his car for traffic congestions.
