Hired for job beginning in August. Income tax free, most expenses are taken care of, no rent, no electric bills, no water and sewer bills, no Internet contracts, no purchase of furniture or appliances including washer, dryer, microwave and flat screen TV, no contributions to medical, dental and vision premiums, transportation is provided so no need for car, insurance, gas, maintenance on a car. SAR- 189,484 yearly. Thoughts on how much I would be able to save based on cost of living in Jeddah?

As a person living in Jeddah for the past 21 years, I feel that the data given above is very accurate, and anybody can decide on his needs, and calculate the monthly expenses required to live in Jeddah. You can live cheaper depending own public transport, cooking your own meals, sharing accommodation if bachelor etc.
Regarding the climate, Jeddah has moderate climate through out the year, except a few days of high temperature and humidity during July-August.
Now Jeddah is undergoing rapid changes with lot of constructions going on, including the New Airport Terminal, and soon will have a modern look.
For families as well as bachelors, there are lot of places such as the historical district down town Balad, parks, beaches, shopping malls etc. to hang out during weekends.
Above all Jeddah has international look through out the year, with the pilgrims from all over the world using it as the corridor to the Two Holy cities, Makkah, & Madina.
Last but not least the people are friendly, and helpful. The Civil Police are so dedicated, attentive and strict in executing their duties, that you are very safe in any part of the city, if a law abiding citizen or expatriate.
Need suggestion on monthly income affordable to live a standard life in Jeddah with wife and a child.
Also need a reasonable savings at the end of the month/ year.

Please check the date and year for comments.2012 was much batter but now situation is totally changed. if your salary is below 7000 SR then there is no saving just living in KSA.
There should be some procedure of the Rent for each locality. The Land Lords are charging and overcharging as they like.
Today I have received my offer letter for jeddah as Maintenance Engineer
They are offering as follows
Basic 5000
HRA 833
Transportation 500
Everything I have to manage my self, hence here I have doubt with this package how much I can save?
Actually they are taking for Engineer position but due non availability of Engineer visa they are asking me to come on technician visa, if I go on technician visa what are the difficulties I may Face?
On offer letter regarding health care they have mentioned that "health care provided for self"
