i find that woy woy is very safe. i feel like i could leave my newborn child at the train station and trust that he would be there in the morning. i think being very high in the drug cartel helps with this reason. i would extremely recommend that woy woy is a family friendly suburb. i have sent my childeren to the woy woy train station for sleepover and they love it. i take them to the very high rated woy woy public school and everyday they come home and tell me how fun their day was, i would not recommend St John the Baptist school as i hear reports of kids getting beat with a drumstick in a music class. to sum up, woy woy is a great place to live, grow, experience life and give children the best chance at becoming a brain surgeon or lawyer.

Visited Sydney, Central Coast, Newcastle and Melbourne for my two weeks in Australia thru Christmas and the New Year.
Sydney is another Hong Kong, Central Coast is great, but we were robbed outside a pub, Newcastle is the real Australia I dreamt of all my life and Melbourne was like being in any euro city.
Wont be back.

Indian's very much truly like the Central Coast as there are no Chinese peoples.

In the last 2 to 5 years, when the sun goes down, crime around Woy Woy and the train station has become a real problem.
Although police have stepped up patrols in the dark hours, its not having any real effect.
I've lived in Woy Woy for 33 years and will retire at the end of 2018, that's if I don't get mugged or assaulted on the train or station before then.
This used to be a peaceful relaxed suburb, now its full of crime and Asian train gangs.
Dick Tracy on Nov 22, 2017:
As with most of the Central Coast, Gosford suffers from the opportunist Aussie thief.
No matter whether the perpetrator is 8 years old or 80 years old, the Central Coast has a long history of small crimes. In particular, Umina Beach, Gosford, Narara, Springfield and Wyong.
However, with the huge Asian influx, crimes are becoming more serious. The Indian's don't seem to be involved in anything illegal, its the Chinese and Cambodian's.
And our government tells us immigration is good - what a load of crap
