i've been here to Gold Coast plenty of times and sometimes its good and sometimes its bad. its not actually that bad of a place. yes it has its ups and downs (like drugs, vandalism, assault, etc.), but if you look on the bright side, its actually liveable.

There is a comment below that says ‘the council keeps Gold Coast pristine and beautiful’ but it’s a lie, Australians are patriots in the way they think their country is so much more luxurious than others… but the council are so lazy and do nothing. Takes them 10 years to fix a road (not joking) in Japan they finish a bridge in a day, not an over exaggeration but they literally just sit on their phones all day in Australia.

Beaches are the best part of Gold Coast! (Not the people) but honestly I prefer the beaches in the Whitsundays, so if you are a tourist just go get a charter to white haven. If you do come here, Stay out of surfers. But honestly Gold Coast has gotten so much more dangerous over the years. Every kid is taking drugs… I’m moving. I hate bogans.

The Gold Coast is a great place. Been living there since birth and so far, no issues, apart from the house prices rising in central areas where I live and work at, like Southport. Apart from that, the beaches are amazing, and the public events that happen like the Gold Coast show are fun to go to. I would really recommend someone to move to the Gold Coast, and you should too.

gold coast is amazing and you must go because it is amazing there is no crime and everyone is really nice plus the beach is good and everything is amazing go now you MUST otherwise if you don't go then poppy playtime will creep into your room and gobble down your toes and everything else you must go now its amazing and they have much good stuff GO NOW its amazing

I have traveled the world and while there are some amazing places throughout the world, no where comes close to the overall splenfdour of the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast has ideal weather, beautiful waterways and beaches that are great for surfing, theme parks, Tambourine Mountain, close to Byron Bay and the hinterland is totally underrated. The hinterland has some amazing walking trails with beautiful rain forests and waterfalls. I have lived on the Gold Coast for 21 years and never had a problem with crime, but I hardly ever go into Surfers Paradise where people go stupid. I lived in Sydney for 45 years and crime is way worse there. Traffic is only busy during school drop off and pick up or where there are road works. The Council does an amazing job of keeping the city in pristine condition. Great parks, sporting facilities and roads are excellent compared to most other places in the world.

The homelessness in the gold coast is slowly climbing and I am constantly worried about corruption in the council system the most important thing we should be focusing on is crime.

Like most places commonsense one doesn't get about at night anywhere,lock Ur homes even lock doors during the day,better safe than sorry,drugs/ALC are abused any most places but due to the 24 7 party precinct the climate & beaches,tourist attractions,the transient population bring their issues,like Bali they think surfers is a place to get messy,get wasted & do some stupid things.southport is underfunded,plenty of police there don't know what they do at night,asleep?.there's a lot of corrupt ppl with big money on the coast,go to the casino on Thur,Frid Saturday night,s it's wall to wall with dubious characters.the weather is usually good,the country side hills,beaches are beautiful,it's a bit of a rat race now,it was a country town by the beach in the late 70,s.there were some good clubs like Bombay Rock in surfers & the playroom at palm beach,hosted all the old Aussie bands,cheisl,angels,INXS,oils etc.it was great growing up here in the 80,s & early 90,s now it's a money grabbing joint, selling beach side places with rising sea levels,so every time a storm surge comes the Beach's are going.

First of all, I have lived at the Gold Coast my whole life and nothing has ever happened. There have been no crimes to close and there has been no car thefts. Most people are friendly and kind. By the way Paul, not everyone are brogans. Most people aren't so before you judge, come to the Gold Coast yourself and realize that your statement is incorrect and unneeded.
