I been staying Cozumel for two days so far and I been offered several drugs from little stores and I was followed by a guy who had offered me drugs then he ask me to go in his house. I didn’t feel safe it’s to bad because this is suppose to be a vacation.

I have been to Cozumel many times in the past 3 years. We usually stay in a home or apartment in a regular neighborhood and have not had any reasons to feel unsafe. Here, we have shootings and attacks reported all over our county every week! In Cozumel, We walk around the city day and night and feel safer than our home city in CA USA. We treat people kindly and are treated kindly. We have had a couple vendors try to take advantage when we were making a purchase, but overall we are treated respectfully. Most vendors are starting to recognize us and are now especially friendly and helpful - even when we don't purchase one item! I have seen many motor scooters sitting outside a house and even parked on the street in front of a home or business. Those folks don't seemed worried about having their stuff stolen. As for the food--we've found gr.eat places to eat good Mexican food. It isn't the same as mainland Mexican food because it has the Maya influence. Different areas of Mexico have different recipes and different preferences. That is to be expected. I don't care much for big cities really, so I probably won't go to Mexico City, but friends have told me that they enjoyed going there.
