We looked at renting places at 32 8th Avenue as well as Leopards park. Is this area safe.

I agree with AlbertonMama about drug trafficking especially in Alberton North. Interestingly so; when one takes into account of the fact that there is a police station in the very Alberton North.

Most residents have questioned the efficiency of South African Police Services. These drug trafficking is constantly taking place under the watch of police. Making a mockery of our Police Services. Leaving some residents to wonder if these drug traffickers could be colluding with police or offering them bribes? As it has shown to be the case in some instances.

And asking how on earth could such operations be ongoing when there is a Police Station with police holding a whole range of different titles; from Generals to Detectives?

Some have even gone on to tease the system; posing questions like; "What are those detectives detecting except maybe the bellowing smoke of our youngsters smoking dagga and sniffing other illicit drugs of abuse?"

Mostly resulting in social distress and possibly a myriad of crimes that when reported; the only intervention from those police would be to come and write a statement?

My observation of such a Police System intervention is purely tertiary. Attempting to salvage whatever is left of the social trauma incurred on residents. These following house breaking; theft;car hijackings and a whole range of debilitating crimes.

Many residents have gone on and on lamenting a failing police system that behaves like a toothless dog.
