I'm very skeptical that all info is so out of date. Give me a break, 2010, so much has happened in that time, it shows that the Government and other lower administerial authorities are very laxed in there duties by not keeping vacationers more updated with true current facts. I would not visit or advise friends of mine to visit this destination.

Everything is insanely OVERPRICED in Punta Cana right now! Most hotels and resorts have less than 50% occupancy rates and there are hundreds of vacant apartments lying unsold in Punta Cana right now even as thousands more are being built! It is inevitable that real estate prices in Punta Cana will PLUNGE within the next couple of years. There are a couple of dubious online publications trying to trick Americans and Canadians by touting Dominican Republic as a wonderful place to buy property, retire overseas and invest in agriculture projects. If you follow their advice you will get scammed and LOSE a lot of your money very soon!
