This city was surprisingly nice considering the limited mental capabilities of the local Turko-Bulgars.

Lol wannabe mafia kids turn into wannabe mafia adults. The biggest problem with Bulgaria is Bulgarian citizens are wannabe everything and wannabe nothing. Dig a big deep wide hole knock them out before throwing them in the hole but let's make it worthwhile. Pour gasoline generously all over them throw a lit match into the hole crack open a bottle of high quality French champagne and listen to them scream so relaxing and refreshing knowing non-existence remains of their charred remains used as fertilizer. Repeat process another bottle of champagne please.

We were interested in possibly purchasing a house in Plovdiv several years ago but didn't for this reason. The price of the house was advertised by the owner. But after the owner found out we were from Britain the price went up another 40% than the original asking price so we decided not to buy it. Several days went by after not purchasing the owners house only to receive nasty emails from the owner for not buying the house. Evenentially Bulgarians must think they can take advantage of foreigners by price gouging or intimidation but it didn't work. Bulgarians wonder why other foreigners shun them but it's quite obviously their deceptive attitudes and hateful attitudes.I agree with the overview from the former poster spot on.

Foreigners are not used to the reality, no one will babysit you just because you're different, unlike you people we have actual problems and stuff to worry about, welcome to reality if you can't take it go back to your country I'm sure Jamal and Mohammed need you, sincerely Hristo.

Most of those comments are totally disconnected from the reality, at least about Plovdiv, except for the "Drivers disregard important traffic rules" + some drivers are aggressive. And there are rude people here as in any other country, but they are rude to Bulgarians too... Plovdiv is a much safer city than all mid to big cities in Western Europe.

It's a shame the majority of Bulgarians are racist against foreigners visiting and living in their country.Every bulgarian we came across was so negative and mean acting during our short visit especially in Plovdiv, pity.

The post on March 13 2020 just proves how violent and irrational Bulgarians are.I was offered an IT job in Bulgaria last year and I didn't even contact any company in Bulgaria.I did get several nasty emails from companies interested in me working for them when I said no thank you not interested.Bad karma breeds bad karma. After reading the comments here and comparing them with the nasty emails I received last year I fully understand how Bulgarian people are now no thanks bye bye Bulgaria.

The overview of Plovdiv on March 25 2019 and December 27 2020 are both correct.Plovdiv is a mixed bag of hatred towards any foreigners and it spills over into the rest of Bulgaria. Many different ethnic groups live in Plovdiv and the Bulgarian people remind them often how unwelcome those ethnic groups really are even though those ethnic groups contribute heavily to Plovdiv economy. The post from Anonymous But BG on March 13 2020 reveals how the bigots are a native Bulgarian mindset.Plovdiv like the rest of Bulgaria has a high crime rate no doubt.Bulgarian men and women have a mafia mindset trying to play the tuff guy approach.Theft is a big game to Bulgarians overall because they'll try to take it all.In a nutshell Bulgarians are mentally retarded psychopaths.

Man, chill out! How can you tell such things to our country that are overly exaggerated. This kind of viewpoint is too much and tourists here are chilling in BG, tf is your problem :(
On the other hand, we rank 26th place on GPI (Global Peace Index) accordig to 2018 statistics. Some developed countries are even not safe and has a lot of crime rates.

Plovdiv becomes more expensive each day. Compared to other bulgarian cities like Burgas and Varna, it is place where you spent more on eating out, especially reastaurants.

The country does have a good nature, but it is inhabitated with people who largely have a low culture, a primitive understanding of civilisation, and a gross language. Drivers disregard important traffic rules and lack prudence, on the public transport it is ugly as most are depressed old people or don't know how to behave. Aggressive people, who also love to treat each other badly, as this country is infamous with the exploitation of the workers and absent healthcare. Avoid visiting this country, as it does not provide anything, other than cheap alcohol and awful music.
