In casa if you're there avoid dangerous hoods like inside ancient medina .. and just live in the good towns like maarif or bourgogne west, If you go out just Ain Diab, Marina or Massira khadra ,mosque hassan 2 in daylight .

I don’t get the first comment down there. I’m part of the moroccan Jewish community but I lived most of my life between Paris and Brighton, UK. Now, I settled down in Casablanca and locals news are no different from those in the UK. In Casablanca, murders and violent crimes are rare and occurs generally within the same social circle ( divorce affairs or employers affairs) . I’ve never read or experienced any kind of violence in the city. Casablanca is probably safer than París but nowhere as safe as a little town like Brighton.
However, by using normal common sense, you can avoid all troubles in the city.
The city has got a very vibrant nightlife ( corniche ) and many petty crime happens around nigh-clubs as pickpocket would take advantage of drunk people and snap theirs belongings . Although, I’ve never seen a city of that size having such a huge night life during the week.
The culture is very Arab oriented so human interactions are everywhere. Weather is a pushy seller or someone asking directions.
