Navi Mumbai is certainly better place to live, safer, less cluttered, wider roads, daily garbage collection unlike Europe or US, or Singapore or Au or Canada.
Woman can walk back to home after work at 8 pm. Better health care system. 3 wheeler auto are inexpensive unlike taxi in Europe or US or Singapore or Australia or Canada. Hot Food is unbelievably cheap with 100s of verities. Crime is low per 10000. Can't see homeless as elsewhere.

The slums percentage in Navi Mumbai is 20% while at Mumbai it is more than 50%. Navi Mumbai is only 20 km away from Mumbai. Navi Mumbai has lesser number of slums than Mumbai. Foreign tourists will be disappointed though.
When Mumbai is Hell, its neighbour Navi Mumbai will be Hell in the making.
The number of slums will only increase in Navi Mumbai since it is only 20 km from Hell.
And by the way, the quality of life stats in this page are ridiculous.
I am a Mumbaikar now living abroad. Maharashtra should arrange for a slums tour of the twin cities of Mumbai-Navi Mumbai.
