It's uncommon information, but Oman especially Muscat has very high cost of live comparing to sarcastic salaries
But I have a very good hopes in Sultan haitham in economy field to make Oman better.
PS, I'm not Omani citizen.

Purchasing power for locals is on the low side, but for expats it is pretty high.

Tax on consumption / VAT is above average, still the prices are very low.

Tax on income is minimal, much lower than in most other places, so you can save a lot.

Purchasing power in Oman is very Low Comparing very low comparing to other GCC countries.

Salaries and wages very low and tax after vat is high, So cost of living is very high comapring with salaries.
