Air quality is best near the ocean otherwise it's quite polluted.
Purchasing power - There is a lot of income disparity. Thousands of homeless people, it seems like it’s a third world country. A lot of rich people too. If you are working minimum wage job, you will struggle. It’s a city for people who want to make it, if you wanna work in retail or restaurant, you’ll be better elsewhere.
Safety - It’s not too bad, safer than it seems. But there are a lot of crazy people on drugs.
Health care - American health care is good if you have good insurance and lots of money. And even then, doctors can give you poor treatment sometimes.
Climate - It’s good in general, usually warm and sunny. Because it’s a desert, there is a big difference between a day and night temperature. If you go inland more, it would be hotter in the summer.
Cost of living - Very high, worse than most places in the world.
Property price to income - It’s hard to find a studio for under $1000. Usually it’s about $1200. I share 2 bedroom apartment with a roommate in ok neighborhood, we pay $850 each. I think we had a good deal. Overall, it’s bad compared to most places in the US but better than San Francisco or New York.
Traffic - Hell.
Pollution - Smog doesn’t really bother me, air is not that bad. There is trash on the streets but it’s also manageable.
