Health care in Dili and the rest of East Timor is shit, poorly trained Doctors, dodgy health clinic's and a near non existent ambulance service. The hospital itself resembles a 1940's or 50's outback Australian hospital with lazy staff who have 2 hour lunch breaks and a poorly trained physiotherapy unit. Travel insurance to this nation is a must and if you plan on living their for long haul then make sure you are in good physical health.
Don't bother calling the emergency number because it is never answered!
