I spent 3 days in Venice in 2018 and found it to be just as safe as my home town in Australia. We were never threatened, robbed, or felt in any way uncomfortable. We spent all day, from early in the morning, walking around the city and very late into the night. We didn’t visit the surrounding areas of Mestra and Marghera so I have no opinion on safety and crime there.

I am using this site for a school assignment and I was wondering how accurate this information is as my information needs to be at least 95% accurate to get the highest mark possible.

Venice's city limits include a vaste mainland area (Mestre, Marghera,...). That's where cars and factories are.
