Bologna Is a pretty safe city overally, the only big problem is that the city is famous for bike stealing

We walked around Bologna late at night even losing our sense of direction at one point and ending up in the odd back street, and we never felt threatened nor unsafe one little bit. Bologna is a city where I felt safer than, probably, any city I've ever been to.
