Toulouse, for me, is one of the best cities in France; we just need a beach... Regarding crime, it's fairly moderate. The city center is like any other city, very touristy, so it's safe, but that can also mean theft or pickpocketing, so be careful, but that happens in every city, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. However, like many cities, moving away from the city center and busy areas becomes more dangerous. There are some burglaries, thefts from cars, and drug trafficking. On the other hand, be careful in certain neighborhoods. Le Mirail, such as Reynerie, Bellefontaine, Empalot, Bagatelle, La Farouette, and Les Izards, are quite poor, crime-ridden areas with drug networks, fights, and some shootings involving dealers, sometimes with heavy weapons. But there you have it, it's certain areas, not the whole city, so just avoid the places I've mentioned, and it's the most beautiful city in France!

Surprised at the concerns. Have spent ~6 weeks in Toulouse over several different trips since 2019, have no concerns in any area that I would want to visit.

Not feeling safe at all downtown, by night but even by day.
Absolutely avoid Jeanne d'Arc area and its drug traffic. But no part of the city is safe, especially if you are a woman.
Too few policemen in the streets.
On top of that, worst drivers on the roads.

Very safe city. Far safer than any big city in the UK.
Just avoid certain neighborhood. Any places that are worth hanging out around are safe

Compared to other big cities of France like Montpelier Marseille and paris, Toulouse is on the safest spots. Just beware at nigh from shady people and ghetto style neighborhood and you're 90% safe
