I do not advise people to visit the Lasnamäe area and especially to walk there at night, and I do not advise people to walk on Sõle street. It is dangerous in some parts of the center at night.

In my experience it's a pretty safe city. Just avoid unofficial taxis or you can get scammed.

What's this? A comment section of a European capital without racism?

visited Tallinn in October 2019. felt like probably one of the safest cities that I've seen in Europe

Tallinn is easily one of the safest cities in Europe. Even the city's "bad" areas like Kopli and Lansamae are much safer than bad areas in other European cities. There have been a few pickpocketing incidents, but they're far and few. Do watch out for drunkards (usually tourists).

Safe city. Vast majority of issues that do exist do not effect tourists here. Russian mob does have some influence but it has mostly been stamped out. Use common sense like in any big city and you'll be fine.

Its very touristic. That does not mean its safe, but I never have became a victim to crime either. Just stay there where the japs tourists are and ur always safe;)

In the daytime its a very safe city but on a nighttime u should be aware where u are , certain neighbourhoods can be dangerous for foreign people , specially if u dont know where are u going . drug problem is big in estonia , actually its the drug overdose capital of europe

but still its a very beautiful city with rich history , definetly worth visiting
Eesti on Aug 27, 2018:
Generally pretty safe.
Caution is advised during nighttime though, especially in old-town and its surroundings. Attacks on (drunk) tourists do happen.
