Very nice city, we expected worse but it is actually very safe i would say. We are originally from Fresno, which is many times more sketchy and dangerous than german cities. Police is helpful too, and "on your side", versus the US, where they just want to book you no matter what or how.

Stuttgart my city! Im not born there but live a little bit far away but there every weekend. It is a small city and nothing interesting a riot happened once from youths and every weekend now they are partying full at the Schlossplatz. It can happen that you will get robbed at night around stuttgart when you are alone or not in a big group. But at all its really safe and police is very fast and present and helpful not as many other countries like spain or italy. But still stay vigilant and careful avoid any dark street and take busy streets.
