I was assaulted on a Friday morning in Pike Street Market, probably one of the most heavily tourist spots in Seattle. The perpetrator fled and left me with broken ribs. Considering a bus driver was knifed and another poor victim was shot nearby in the next two week, I consider myself lucky. By the way, I was carrying pepper spray (my wife insists as I take a daily walk from work downtown), but it happened so fast I never even got my hand in my pocket.
