Crime in Nice, France, example: I have a soft top convertible and I mostly kept in the garage at the airbnb. On a Sunday when I took it out to go to lunch, I could not have parked it better and in a safer neighbourhood (bd Victor Hugo), I really put thought into it. I was going to park it in an underground parking but the neighbourhood just seemed so safe and it was a good spot.

I still got my soft top slashed and car window broken despite having nothing of value in the car and nothing was stolen. Pure vandalism. The police didn't seem too surprised or interested, did not even take photos (I drove to the police station).

I only took the car out maybe 3 days in 2 weeks.

After it happened I have to say I definitely noticed a lot of faces in Nice that seem completely lost. I had noticed them before but I thought they were harmless lol.

By the statics, among the big cities of France Nice is in the safer league. But there were 2 terracts in decade, and after Ebdou event the rating decreased noticeably at this site, based on survey (before 62 safety, now 36)

Can anyone confirm if the rating really says how is the situation in Nice? I would like to travel there on November, but by now, I am a bit worried. Ty

So strange that it has the same rating as Curitiba in Brasil or some non-sufficient American neighbourhoods, while having times lower crime. Seems like the European and American definition of safety is very different, but rating doesn't show that.
