Crimes are committed depending on time and place and political situation. For example, in Africa, promise of democracy is a lie & capitalism is a crime. Situate the crime honestly and think: it could be YOUR JOB AS THE EXPERT to find ways to prevent crimes. Contextualise your research and make it useful.

Went as a mzungu two years ago and I had no problems in the city. Even places like Kibera weren’t that bad to check out. Overall, I can say that Nairobi and East Africa in general are good places for beginner Africa travelers. At night it’s also not that sketch if you especially stay at the CBD. Definitely need to go again.

Quite safe if you take the necessary precautions you would take in any other large city. Friendly people. I really enjoyed my time there.
