Lyon is really unsafe and it is worse and worse at night and even down-town.

Sky-rocketing crimes ...

At the end of september or beginning of October, Urban lighting don't start before you almost see nothing in the streets (at early evening you will have light only from open restaurant or from shop even in city center : very unsafe) you can't almost see anything.

Surveillance video everywhere ... Police nowhere in the street. Surveillance video is used most of the time for road traffic offenses or after important crimes are comited or just for further investigation after some important crimes. You can't fell safe here anymore. Only sometimes Few amy soldiers patrolling at day time in Vieux Lyon.

This is not a myth. This a true cold reality. Have a look at : ¨presqu'îl en colère, la guillotière en colère, Gerland en colère, ...). Next and soon it will be "Vieux-Lyon en colère" (en colère = huff, angry, furious).

Very sad : Safer to be in Bangkok (Thailand) than in Lyon.

Take care !

My friend and I stranded in Lyon for the night, without a place to sleep. We felt extremely uncomfortabel and unsafe. We were approached by a guy with a knife, a drug dealer, a guy hiding from the police and numerous people asking us for drugs. We saw several thefts, and were very lucky to be left unharmed.
