I have lived in this city on and off for 19 years total (attended preschool through secondary in London; left, then returned in my 20's after a breif career in Law enforcement) and I can honestly say this city has become absolutely terrible. None of the scores listed above are even somewhat accurate of the truly dire situation London Ontario has become. Basically London was split up into a bunch of different areas, but now everything is being purchased by outside investors making London into one big rundown rental property that's way too expensive for what it's worth. Oakridge was great for young families and generally low in crime (Car break-ins happened on the daily, but rarely violent crimes), sooooooo many Karen's to watch out for unfortunately a.k.a racism was/is still very common in this area. Byron is the same, however more for the rich older folk that would call the cops if your music is too loud. Next is Downtown. God help anyone who has to travel through or work in this shithole. Zero city planning, parking sucks, narrow streets, and it's only getting worse with streets getting removed for walkways (that have ruined so many businesses as well). Loads of abandoned buildings due to Farhi buying properties and waiting 20 years to sell them for insane prices. The homeless population has become extremely aggressive in the past 5 years and I have seen many fights occur because people won't give someone a few bucks (or a friggin bus ticket believe it or not), lots of drug abuse with needles everywhere, strip joints beside catholic elementary schools, Victoria Park is disgusting except for the few weeks where rib fest, sun fest, and the other random events happen. Very unsafe when the sun goes down. The east end is the same as downtown, with even more buildings that are in terrible states. I have driven down streets like Culver and seen multiple houses overflowing with garbage from the horders that reside there, and the city only has like 5 bylaw officers so good luck even reaching them. Gangs have become a real problem lately and methadone clinics keep popping up in the middle of formerly wealthy/family populated areas of the city. The police won't do anything about crime, don't respond for hours when you call, INSANE road rage everywhere due to young uni kids that think wonderland road is a racetrack vs all the old people driving 30kmph in the left lane. Got my front bumper kicked in from honking at someone stopped in the middle of a street, cops asked me to drive home and showed up in 24hrs saying they couldnt do anything about it. Two multi million dollar drug busts on my street in 5 years, a Muslim family out for a walk was just run over in a terrorist attack down my street, and my buddy was shot trying to purchase something on Kijiji in a seemingly good area thanks to all the hidden/extremely dangerous "hot spots" scattered around. But with all of this in mind, the number one reason I dint recommend London is for the sake of your children. Schools are so terrible, judgemental, racist, too many "executive positions" for a friggin school board. Overcomplicated, solutions-less, and will punish children for protecting themselves just to cover their own asses. Get out if you can!!!

This city is horrible, I cant count on both my hands and feet how many times I've been attacked by either a random person or a tweaker freaking out. The drug problem is out of hand, young kids using meth, people nodded off with needles in their body, the yelling, the destruction, the theft, the vandalism, the immense amount of homeless people we have, the murders/ violent attacks that happen without being on the news cuz it didn't happen in a nice area. This city is corrupt. Has been my whole life living here, and I don't see a change happening for the better anytime soon.

Most worrisome in London is the corruption of the police. The biggest crime in London is being a male. Men are the most unsafe because it is too easy for a woman to make false claims of abuse from a man and they are always believed. The jails are full of men who are innocent of the crimes accused by women. Discrimination of every sort is a big problem here.

Downtown London is hella sketchy. I go to school downtown and every single time I walk down the streets I get cat called by creepy old and even young men/boys. Every time I walk down there even in the day light I get high levels of anxiety. Drug problems are also o bad druggies walkin around at al time of the day lookin like they tryna kidnap or attack me. Heeeella druggies up in this place bruh. Not a chance i'm walking down town at night and for all the people who do, God bless takes some courage fam.

I think we are sliding farther and farther toward a place that is run by those who have no care for the people around them or what they are doing to the towns and cities that they are "controlling".

druggies and thieves are controlling this city. you are not safe and neither is your property. city needs to double police force and being back vagrancy laws

London, Ontario is a fairly safe city relative to others in the Great Lakes region.
You are however taking a risk if you go East of Adelaide street at night.
Most crime is committed Downtown and on East end of the city.
