ALOT Of Homelessness Around This City. Drunk People Is A Very Common Problem In Liepaja. It Has Not Much To Do. I Recommend To Travel There When Its Summer. My Friend Once Got Here Into A Fight. Other Than That The City Is Quite Boring. Just Go When It Is Summer. 5/10 ⭐

Liepaja is a city you should keep your surroundings. As I've heard there been some killings past these months. Theres safe and bad places in this city, the city is so called "ghetto" which is true, theres areas that are ran by these specific ghetto groups. When you feel unsafe and see people in groups walking around (mostly teenagers) you should try keep your distance / avoid them. Most elderly people here are nice so they are probably willing to help. Basically just don't be a dumbass and know your surroundings also theres alot of drunk people on weekends at night so be careful.

Been living in this city for a while, moved here from Riga, kinda regret it, crime been increasing in last few years. A lot of alcohol and drug abuse happening around. The city is safe to travel to, just try to avoid few areas of city, and any druggie person, they might be armed. The guy below me already mentioned it, try avoid few areas - MT, Karosta and Lauma. And you are good to go!

The city is overall safe, I would try avoiding areas like MT and Lauma, I've heard some violence happening there. I live in this city my whole life, there's really nothing to do when it comes to fun especially in this pandemic time we are in right now, but there are few spots you can chill and enjoy your time.

Liepaja is horrible and violent. I am a citizen from UK, came here to have a new experience. And I regret it. On the second day, it was a Friday night about 2am,I went to my car and heard somebody shouting at me, I turn around and see 3 guys, one of them had a gun pointed at me and threatened to hurt me if I wasn't going to give them my wallet and a ring that I had on. I had no choice but to give the stuff away, they let me go. That was the scariest experience of my life. The city is not safe especially at night when you are all alone. Not worth visiting.
