First of all both of you are wrong. There were 14 completed homicides and it's a rate of 1,86.
Second thing: I was born in this city and been living here 35 years. Frankfurt had worse times and it used to be a city where it should've been avoided. But Frankfurt is like ANY other European city, which is you can visit those places and it's safe. No matter if its London, Manchester or even Marseille. There are always dangerous boroughs.
But if we talk about the crimes and the general look at it, I take it from my personal experiences from what I've saw and heard. And Frankfurt has a big problem when it comes to violence. Tourist places are full with junkies, thieves, dealers and some violent people. There are neighbourhoods where even the police has a problem to step in. And when I hear the review from my friends in the UK about Frankfurt, they describe it worse than most of there own cities. BUT it's still safe here like any other city here and I think this site is exaggerating those European cities worse than it is. You just have to watch out. But saying that Frankfurt is safe than most of the UK cities is factually false
The crime statistics in Frankfurt also include attempted case which lead to cases appearing high.
For 2018 there were a total of 48 murder cases recorded in Frankfurt, but only 5 of these cases lead to an actual death, with most cases being’ “attempted cases”.
Based on these facts Frankfurts Homicide rate per 100,000 is as follows:
5 actual murder cases / 750000 population = 0.67 murder cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
For comparison:
2018 homicide rate of London was 1.4
2018 homicide rate of greater Manchester was 2.44
Conclusion: London’s homicide rate is more than twice the rate of Frankfurt, and Manchester’s homicide rate is almost 4 times higher than Frankfurt.
This shows that Frankfurt is much safer than most uk cities.
Frankfurt had 2019 69 murder offences which is written in the PKS Frankfurt. And calculated with the inhabitants of this city which is 750k, we'll come around a rate of 9,4
2019 murder rate of London was 1.6
murder rate of Frankfurt was 10.5
Anyone care to explain ???
