Calgary isn't dangerous as a whole. But, I have been watching the news and I've noticed an increase in homicides. But it's not a major issue. The northeast is sketchy. A bit of theft, fights and vandalism. Same with downtown at night. Ive come close to drug addicts before here. Ive seen quite a few fights and arrestings each year. Ive had my car broken into a couple times(in the suburbs). My local 7 eleven has been robbed once. But overall a very safe city. Also its kinda sketchy in the C trains to. But there is no gangs or anything I'm aware of. If you hang around here in downtown at night, you could come across some freaky people.

Other than that, very safe and happy city. What you should be scared of is the icy roads. I Recommend Calgary to any tourist. Crime low. Of course if you've lives here for years, you will have higher chances.

calgary's a safe city! i go almost everywhere alone totally fine. just would suggest avoiding the northeast, forest lawn, drop in centre, and crack macs. it's not like super dangerous but it's better if you're not alone or at night. ctrain might be a lil scary alone at night, but if you just avoid/ignore stupid people, dont talk or make eye contact you'll be fine, nobody will ever bother you

Calgary is a mostly safe city but out of the 4 quadrants of this city by far the worst is the northeast. Lots of gangs and drug activity here Mostly Kashmiri gangs, punjabi gangs, lebanese gangs, kurdish gangs and a couple more.

Watch out for northeast Calgary so many gangs and shit. Lebanese, South Asian, Somali, and Vietnamese gangsters ravage the streets. Most of Calgary is dumbshocked by these criminals. The First Nations are quite bad as well but are mainly drunk or addicted to drugs. As far as the Latinos they are wusses moving drugs from one spot to another not really into the fighting much. The whites are the biggest pussies. The only thing they know is to rob people stores, and houses or they jus join some racist organization or biker club. One on one these guys are wimps.
