Belgrade is safest city in which I have ever lived, West Europe, USA, and the rest of the world is much much more dangerous, never had any problem. Serbs are great people.

I’ve been living in Belgrade for four years, and it’s a really safe city when it comes to personal safety. I’ve never had any issues with theft, though I know in tourist spots you might risk losing your phone or wallet. But it’s definitely not the kind of place where you need to be on high alert all the time. I walk around day and night without any worries
It’s actually the first place in my life where people often offer to help me with my bags or belongings and I feel completely comfortable accepting it

I've lived in Belgrade for 27 yrs and counting, haven't encountered any serious crime. Occasional pickpockets in very crowded public transportation, and I (as a woman) prefer not walking for too long alone at night, but in general, no issues.

There's a lot of white collar crime and the occasional fight, but not much that would affect the daily life of a regular person.

well it got mafia just like every capital in balkan zagreb,sarjevo,ljubljana,skopje,tirana... they all got crime and mafia but none of them are like really dangerous

Probably the safest city in East Europe, almost no crime EXCEPT soccer hooligans and some pickpockets, but i was there for 30 years and never witnessed any.
