Avoiddddd. I was robbed by motorbike they came and kicked me off my bike to take my phone. I was in hospital with injuries. Police do nothing. They then answered my phone that my family were calling stating they were “police” and needed my address to give my phone back only to find out from my house staff in my villa that they want my location to steal me more! I had to then have 24 hour security as I was afraid they would get into my phone and find my location from my pictures. I felt a huge huge relief when I came back to Europe !

Bali is safe is you have common sense. You are in a different country so you need to always be alert. Don’t hang around in dodgey areas/bars, don’t associate with untoward people, don’t get absolutely wasted, keep your belongings on you and you’ll have a great time. I’m a 50kg 165cm female who had been there four times and not once had an issue. Locals are very friendly.
