Bali is safe is you have common sense. You are in a different country so you need to always be alert. Don’t hang around in dodgey areas/bars, don’t associate with untoward people, don’t get absolutely wasted, keep your belongings on you and you’ll have a great time. I’m a 50kg 165cm female who had been there four times and not once had an issue. Locals are very friendly.

Not safe!!,,horrible experience in Kuta, corruption & extortion run rampant, Do not get in a taxi, very dangerous to walk anywhere at night. Kuta is filled with drunk and drugged people running amok,
Please for your own safety go somewhere else: we live in a big world and there are many beautiful places to visit Bali is not one of them

NOT SAFE! went to most well known areas in Bali and it’s. It safe.surrounded by taxi mafia and drugs eveywhere. Gili Air was by far the worst place. Even on Wikipedia it says it’s known for drugs! Couldn’t relax on the beach because vendors trying to sell drugs! Go somewhere else! Europe is more beautiful!

If you hang out at dingy Bali nightclubs and expect to be safe that's on you. Bali is a lovely country with beautiful people. It's the same anywhere in the world if you hang out in shady nightclubs chucking cash around like its Monopoly money your going to get someone trying to grab it out of your paralytic hands. Just remember what you'd spend on 1 night out at sky garden would feed a Balinese family for a month.

My mate was cut from eat to mouth to other ear by a gang here"I'm in bali atm" it's the most horrific injury I have seen in my life. I grew up in south America and have seen some crazy things but what they did to my friend here is cold and cruel. All over an argument in Skygardens where some guy pushed him down the stairs they fought and he was dragged off by security later I saw him in hospital with his face cut open and completely ruined, he Saud this gang held him down beating him and cut his face open ear to ear.been to bali 3 times never again. The people are corrupt and hateful. They steal like and treat foreigners like personal wallets just getting money out of them. Hell hole.

I think you people live very sheltered lives. There is. Time in every town and city in the world and it's something we have to live with. Bali is no different. The people I ha w met have been very friendly. No ones ever offered me drugs or prostitutes like some have mentioned here. I suggest you hang out and visit nicer areas. And Balinese people are not going to hurt you. For a start they are physically quite small so stop be pussies and man up

Oh my word, you guys are either a bunch of P*ssys or just plane scared of life. You need to know where to live, go and enjoy. So stop being so stupid and putting places down. Come to london UK, somewhere like Peckham and then you will think Bali is a magical land full of fairys and dragons. Silly silly people!

As Jan 2016, I was in bali for 3 days and man what a shit hole, the quality of people are very poor and only see westerners as walking ATM machines, every 10 metres a Balinese will eith grab you buy the arm and drag you into their shop or someone will try and offer you Viagra, motor bike rides, taxi rides, cocaine or prostitutes and the cost in bali is quite expensive. EVen at the airport hey boss hey boss u wanna a taxi? some cab drivers will even follow you up the stair cases trying to flog you a cab when your flying out! the local police are corrupt and will demand an AUssie pay $500. AUD for a minor traffic offence.
Don't holiday in bali try Fiji or Jakarta!

I felt really unsafe and I witnessed so many robberies and even assaults. Someone tried to assault me two times and I felt very uncomfortable.
Many of my friends got robbed twice or more than that.
There are many good and kind people in Bali, but lastly more people that misbehave. Police is useless. If you are white they think you have all the money of the world and you've got to pay triple for everything.
Even a few cases of terrible assaults and when indonesians raped tourist girls in their homes.
I can not understand why tall this stats say law level to be honest.
