My family all lives there except my mom which is a US citizen. I love it there and it is a very modern city. But as the years pass, I can feel the difference. Maybe because it's grown so much but it is still safe, I walked with my husband all around and have had no trouble.

Crime is increasing exponentially once more in various Mexican cities. However, AGS remains relatively calm, but for how long? With the cartels extremely violent just over the border in Zacatecas, can State officials manage this situation? The Japanese at Nissan continue to pressure State/City officials to "keep a lid" on the violence that surrounds AGS, or they will take their multi-million dollar, 35 year investment elsewhere. We are thinking of not driving to Texas to renew our TIP, and take our chances driving illegally. Nuevo Leon/Couahuila is extremely sketchy. I have never been alarmed until this year...

I've been to Aguascalientes for business and pleasure, great place, I've been there during the "Feria" time, and its nothing compared to some places in California, Texas, Chicago or Florida. Clean, safe place overall, people are nice and friendly. I will be taking my family this year to visit the city. (Unfortunately I cannot say the same of other cities in Mexico).

Aguascalientes in my opinion is a safe city. I been there and haved never felt unsafe. It's a very pretty modern clean and prosperous city. There are more unsafe areas where I live in the U.S.A. than in A.g.s. People just have a bad concep of Mexico when in reality violence is not all over Mexico. It's just ignorance! There are way more positive things in Aguascalientes than bad things. I look forward in planning to visit this beautiful city again.
