Cost of Living in Tirana

Albania has always been a sht hole just like albanians are

- everyone tries to charge you more (restaurants, rent a car, souvenir shops, etc.)
- ugliest beaches on the Adriatic coast
- no one speaks proper English at the airport
- ridiculous laws such as forbidden gossip, criticizing restaurants etc.

Just think,a retired person has a minimum of...70euro x month that goes up to 160 in best cases.
It says everything.

A very expensive city, given the low image and reputation of the city, the prices are very high !!! For a family with one child 8 years old, taking into account the payment of a private school from 800 euros per month and rent, you need from 4000 euros per month for a comfortable life

My flight came through Tirana briefly waited two hours for my next flight out. Sitting at the airport in Tirana was different to say the least.People couldn't arrange a sentence properly enough to understand it plus they looked like the missing link, ugly doesn't cover how hideous they looked.

So how do 1 million peoplr live there if these are the stats of the city?!?!
Bloating prices and lowering income (as if u live there) does not paint the picture. Sorry to say, but sites like these are designed to throw crap, not to mirror reality. As anyone can tell from the comments here

You need at least 1000 Eu per month / person to live normally in Tirana.
Rents are quite expensive for what you get paid.
Food is also expensive for the salary you get.

How is this true: Tirana is 59.81% less expensive than New York.
Expenses for a single person is: 51,148.55Lek, meanwhile the average salary after taxes is around 50,000.00Lek.
That means you need to take debt in order to pay for your expenses

Living in Tirana is too chaotic, too much noise, smog and dust everywhere. You have only 1 park and that is so full of people because its the only one in all Tirana. The buildings are so close to each other that most of the time no lights come in, or if you have lights you close your window because too much noise and smog comes in.

Politicians, drug dealers and criminals that made money in non legal way are doing money laundring on buildings, so you see a lot of buildings being built everywhere without any concepting. Weak and ugly building where prices are up starting from 200k euro for a 2+1 of 100m2, we also have apartments around 600k euro for a 2+1 of 130-140m2 in the "Liqeni Artificial" red building, we wonder who can buy that apartment in Albania if salaries are lower than in other countries where you can have better houses with better prices.

The Americans that visited Albania are telling the truth and this is how I know.I moved from Los Angeles to Tirana as a retired American. I lived in Tirana for 5 years and I'm leaving Tirana May 2021 when my lease is up. Being from Las Angeles CA I'm very open minded and liberal.
After living in Tirana almost 5 years now I fully understand how Americans feel too and I've never judged anyone. I've been very nice and respectful to everyone around me.During my time here in Tirana I've been unable to make one friend.But instead attacked verbally many times because I'm an American and randomly attacked physically by two Albanian men just walking around daytime for no reasons at all. I'm not going to miss Albania due to the hateful rhetoric spewed towards Americans here.Very bad vibes in Albania and not my thing,goodbye.

Well " ME " I read your comments just read the long list of stupid laws Meta and his cronies put in place the list is very long. But I forgot the majority of Albanians cannot read. Go to the Albania website on laws in Albania. One of the laws isn't to gossip. The other one of many is when is disrespecting a business. Since when is someone disrespecting a business mentioning the food is barely warm? There's nothing welcoming about buying things as a foreigner where prices are clearly visible and foreigners paying double or more for items. We are Americans who visited Albania because we read Albanians are welcoming to Americans they even have a statue of George Bush senior.Fact is Albanians told us they like the U S government but not Americans yes that happened 4 times while we were there.What Albanians don't respect it was American taxpayers dollars that saved Albanians from being invaded and eliminated.What should've happened is let Albanians defend themselves. Also the Albania government never paid anything after calling the U S government begging for our military help. Albanians act like mafia riding around in expensive cars or just talking to them. Any country that has lookouts for possible invaders over 2,000 to be exact spread out all over the country is obviously retarded.The beach looked like a garbage dump trash everywhere and that includes all of Albania which we visited for one month.You mentioned it's in Albanian genes to gossip at coffee shops which I believe. All of the people we encountered throughout Albania had the mind of a dead tree and that's giving credit.Albania has never been anything and it never will be just as long as retarded Albanians reside there. Yes the police showed up 10 minutes later after my wife mentioned her food was barely warm.Albanians think the USA is so great not true at all. Notice how many Americans are living in Albania very few we know that. Albania government offers a one year stay to Americans until they need to get a visa. Albania is beyond a 3rd world country but instead much worse than any 3rd world countries we've visited which is all of them.My wife mentioned the men dress shabby and the women dress like whores.I bet when a man buys a new pair of jeans he shows them off because it took him a year to save for them.The best part about our trip was getting on our flight and leaving Albania. Your country is a total shithole full of shithole people but you should know you're one of them.

As long as Meta is president things will never get better. He's the normal dictator lining his pockets with taxpayers money. A real scumbag loser.
