Don't go to this place unless you want to become an organ donor.

To consider Tirana as moderately safe is a complete lie. Tirana is very safe. Who worries of their house getting stolen ? This is not at all on people’s mind. The funnier part is problems with people doing drugs? Are there people that do drugs? Sure, but you won’t see them in Tirana at all like you see them in San Francisco or in Western European cities. There are virtually almost no homeless people. Whoever responds to this, simply has an Albanian view of what these problems are. Ask an American or Western European who has lived in these places and Tirana instead. They will tell you it’s much, much safer in Tirana. The only truth to this is corruption and bribery. That’s a big problem but that has nothing to do with safety.

December 2021, unfortunately it feels less safe for a solo female traveler, especially the north part can be highly dangerous.try to dressing down, don’t go to a bar. If you stay in hostel, lots of them have illegal immigrants from India, try to avoid them in any cost, watch what you wearing around them, if you feel unsafe report it the hostel manger/ guest house or hotel.I’ve met a girl from the states that god reaped by Albanian at the hostel in shkoder. A guy from India, that tried to make me “ travel with him” try to groom me.avoid going in the dark at night especially in Tirana. I felt more safe in berat and Gijkastra
