This survey has problems. Domestic beer for example in the Dominican Republic is always sold in larger 1 quart bottles even in a bar and sells for 100 pesos RD. In Medellin for example beer is sold in about 12 once bottles for 2000 Col pesos. Your chart allows for no means to make a legitimate comparison. So you are getting a quart of Presidente for a litle over 2 dollars in the Dominican Republic and about 12 onces of say Pilson for maybe 70 Cents in Colombia. Locals for example in both countries are going to pay less rent than foreigners. My wife in Tamboril pays RD6500 for a rather nice 2 bedroom apartment which is cheap. To get an apartment in just as nice a part of the city in Medellin would be more expensive or to get it just as cheap it would be in a worst neighborhood. My wife in a Dominican and I have also spent a lot of time in Medellin. Medellin by the way is much nicer than any city in the DR. I live in Panama. Another small thing. Nobody buys eggs by the dozen in either Medellin or the DR. They are much cheaper when you buy 30 eggs at a time. Your comparisons gives you an idea but are not really accurate. You would be crazy to buy a pair of Levis in either country as they both manufacture jeans. Most likely you will buy the much cheaper locally manufactured jeans. So to use Levis as a basis of comparison is a bit silly. I could go on and on but you get the idea.
