Hello there, im 28 years old, I born, move out and back to Morelia 9 years ago and currently living in the city, I can tell is a slow paced small city (700k population aprox), tourism and trade economic, so jobs in those affairs are the strongest oportunities to prosper. The most of the jobs pay 600 MXN to 1200 MXN averange every week, from monday to saturday 8 hours a week (some jobs only work at mid-day on saturdays, some others workday in sunday too with 1 or 2 days free). in Mexico the averange salary every month is 8000 MXN, but its hard to find a job with 8000 MXN or more in Morelia city, if you want to get 12000 MXN or more, must be on healthcare business, civil architecture (need very good human sources to plug you in) or work for gouverment offices or secretaries (need to know connected ppl too). If youre in the tech, digital things, art, develovement apps or such a things, better go to Guadalajara or Queretaro.

Crime wars between goverment and bad hombres in the city about 2006 year hit hard on the economic development, most of the rich families left, big business didnt want to invest in the city because corruption, robbery in social economic resources leave Morelia city in a state of economic limbo but turistic part.

Not all is bad, we have nice festivals all year, worldwide well-know festivals. Beutiful and nice city to stay for a while, all tourist are well welcome by ppl here (and their wallets)

Personaly I worked at some factory, i was doing the twice of work that they pay me in time that in other city of mexico they would pay me double for only one job, professionals, stay away of this city, tourisnt dudes youre welcome.
