If someone offers you 15-20k gross, believe me that it is really a lot. Many Poles would envy you. :)
Cost of living for 2 peaople without car and renting is about 2-3k. Cost of renting 1 bedrrom (2 rooms) about 3k with media (50-60pln/m2 + media)

+/- 900 - 1000PLN is for room rent. You'll not save a lot money, or any (assuring You'll eat sometimes outside and go for a drinks).
For PhD in my opinion scholarship should be greater.
I won a PhD position in krakow and the scholarship NET is 2000PLN+ insurance per month. Is it enough money for a student there?
student:
shared room + cooking + public transport = 1000 PLN
young adult:
one bedroom apartment + eating out + car expenses + entertainment + sport activities = 4000 PLN
family guy:
two bedrooms apartment + wifey and kid's expenses including these mentioned above = 10000 PLN
Krakow is perfect place to have middle class life for average salary. It is perfect in terms of saving money if you prefer cooking at home and using public transport. There is plenty of free entertainment as well.
Unfortunately entry level and simple jobs provide relatively low income.
If you are ambitious and educated this place is absolutely rewarding.
IT sector is on another level. 15000 PLN salary isn't something surprising.
Wanted to know njow can we save per month with all expenses. Out lifestyle is average. Once in a month movie, twice outside food.
I got an offer 13k PLN per annum. Is this a good salary for single man in Krakow ?
thank you
That is good retirement money but you cannot buy a flat from it.
You can rent a nice flat just from that amount for four years. Relocating and renting a flat should not be an issue, but you should work too in Poland.
1. 32% income tax is counted ONLY for income ABOVE 85.528zł.
2. Below 85.528zł you are paying 17% income tax, NOT 19%. Previously it was 18%, decreased this year to 17%.
3. 19% income tax is ONLY for entrepreneurs (so-called line tax). Line tax is paid for all income (I am using this taxation).
HI guys. Is 8000 zloty a good salary for one person in Krakow ?"
For one person it is rather not good salary, because of the tax you will have to pay. When you are paid 8000 per month, it means that you are then in the 2nd tax treshold. It causes that you need to pay 32% tax (+9% for public health care and so on), instead of 19% (+9%), which is paid by people who earn less than 85.528zł per year. The 2nd tax treshold starts when you earn at least 85.528zł in whole year. So 12 x 8.000zł = 96.000zł. Your net salary will be arround 4.700zł per month.
The most of your salary you will spend for renting a flat - If you rent a flat with 2 rooms, you will pay around 2000-2500zł - depends on the part of the city. When your net salary is low, it is better to rent 1 room in a flat with 2-3 rooms, where other people live - you will then pay around 1.000zł per month for a rent a kind of room. It allows you to save more money. For utillities you will pay about 300-400 zł (or 150-200zł when renting only room), then you need to add to this other things like internet, telephone (I pay 70zł, but it is lower than average) - sometimes internet is included in renting price; public transport - mothly pass for you (who will probably not pay taxes in Kraków) 90zł (for those who pay taxes here - 69zł). Take into account, that probably you want to have an access to Netflix or other kind of tv (Idk how much is this in PL - I don't use that kind of things).
I believe that 8000zł is the beginning proposition. Your salary probably will be higher in next months or in one year. If your english is very good or if you are native speaker and/or speak also another langueage, and if you have an experience, you should be paid about 10.000zł-12.000 - depends on the sector in which you want to work. I've heard that people who work in IT, are paid about 13.000-18.000 zł per month. In my corpo you would be about about 6.000zł. Of counrse in Poland it is not an ussual salary (13-18 thousand) - that is why, if your yearly salary is higher than 85.528zł, you need to pay additional tax, that I described above.
For example, if you earn 10.000zł per month, then you get 120.000zł in wholoe year. You need to pay 32% tax (+9%), so your net salary will be arround 5.900zł - it is quite good, but do remember that you need to save money, if you want to buy a car or something expensive.
