Im from Iloilo but living in Canada. The place is amazing . The electricty is high because of warm weather but their is an option for solar panels right? . The food and seafoods is way much cheaper in Iloilo . If you are new in the area you can find cheap accomodations there. The Ilonggos are nice people and helpful too so if you need help just ask

I have lived in Philippines many years, yes their electricity is high but you don't need that much. most clothes are hung on clothes line, the use of neon bulbs, small instant water heaters,no heating for winter and you can wind up with small bill. Im also going solar with many things

Iloilo City has one of the most expensive electricity rates in the world. Japan is clamoring about its rate at JPY 4.19 (3.5 US cents) per kWh. Imagine if those firms moved here to a whopping PHP 12.58/KWh (JYP 32.47/ 27 US cents).
