So my salary is 2500 Qatar royal including all allowance like transportation, fooding and accommodation. So I need rough calculations of living expense in qater. Is it enough to lived there.
I'm currently working in the UK and have been approached for a three year contract (rotation of 12 weeks on 2 weeks off) to work in Doha (leading up an engineering team). The package works out at 110,000 QAR/month and includes salary, transport, medical, housing, and return flights. I have a family (wife and two school aged children). The above package is based on a single visa but I can bring the family if I so desire.
Is this a decent package to consider if I come as a single and need to support myself in Doha as well as a family in the UK? If I bring my family, education will be paid for.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Im looking for a job in doha, How do u think i should apply for one?
Any recommendations?
I have a bachelor's degree!
Please send some tips and hints, Thanks.
& they can't provide me the accommodation, food
then can anyone guide me is it sufficient for me to live and eating & how much i can save per month
I got an offer in Qatar:
basic: 25000+ housing+insurance+school for up to three kids+ air ticket.
Is this a decent, great, bad offer?
I appreciate your suggestions.
Just checked Compass International School Doha.
The yearly school fee for Primary School incl. tuition fee is 68000 QAR (5700 QAR pr month) and Secondary School incl. tuition fee is app 72000 QAR (6000 QAR pr month). Can anyone inform me if this is de correct prices.
This is significant more than informed in the above (35000 QAR pr year / 3000 pr month).
Also does anyone have recommendations for international schools?

Qatar is not cheap and its even more expensive than Dubai.
I have an opportunity to work in Qatar Doha and company has been offering 11000 riyal/month, my living style is normal. What about the Accommodation and food cost for single person. Please provide with detailed information.
A so is this good package or i need to ask for more salary?
One more thing it is relative when it comes to spending, you can live with 3000 QR, and 50,000 might not be enough depending on what lifestyle u are planning, Qatar is the safest country I've lived or visited so far (US, Europe, Middle East, and many Asian countries), house rent is the major expense, I'm managing a company and I'm paying 8,500 QR/month for a 2 bedroom fully furnished apartment in a decent compound with a big club house, gym, swimming pool, etc... Most of the prices mentioned here is reasonable and accurate
Thankyou
Thank you
How much salary will I earn in Doha and also where can I get job opportunities in Retail stores in Doha. Please I need suggestions.
I am spending 30k a month, not doing extravagant stuff, with a wife and 2 kids.
Been living here since 2008 and things are getting more expensive by the minute.
The new exise tax also will limit your alcohol consumption as all prices for liquor have doubled. Same goes for tobacco products, pork and energy drinks as well as an extra 50% on soda.
Fuel is always cheaper than Europe. Accomodation is a flexible item, depending on the location, so you might get a villa from 10K+ monthly. Public hospitals are almost free. Cars have reasonable pricing, also a flexible item.
Will appreciate for your's answers.
Thanks,
Vishal
I got what seems to be a great offer for a job in Doha. I would relocate to Doha with my family (wife + 2 kids) from Europe. We are being offered something in the area of 45000QAR/month. I am told the salary is TAX FREE. Coming from Europe, we are accostumed to a western lifestyle with good healthinsurance coverage, a pension scheme... However, considering that rents are high for a 3-4 bedroom flat or compound house (+15000 QAR) and the fact the school is about 10000 QAR for two children monthly plus items like health insurance, pension, semi-regular flights back to Europe, it seems I will have considerable costs to pay.
I am expecting monthly costs to amount to something close to 35k-38k, leaving not very much to put aside for a cold winter day... ;o)
Could someone please tell me that I am wrong in my calculations?
I have 11+ years experience as a peoplesoft and oracle database administrator. I am working for JP Morgan at Columbus,Ohio. My H1B is going to end in anthor 18 months. I got a job offer for 18500 QAR including all allowance. I have three kids. They offered me less than what I get now. Could anyone of you tell me how much I could save with this salary? Shall I go with this offer or wait? how about the job market in gulf countries?
I got an offer of 8000 QAR. Would it be enough with rent for 1 person?
Will I get one bedroom sharing including attached bathroom for 1000QAR in Doha.
If I join in mess system in some coffee shop or restaurant, will my food expenses be below 1000QAR or if I cook vegetarian at room, how much will be cost.
Can any one guide me please
I think it is not a good offer. You should receive school allowonce also.
15k is one term school fee, 1 year 30k...3 children is 90k...your 3 salary will be gone for education fee.
Job offer with 8000 USD (about 29000 QAR) all inclusive. I have family of 6 ( 4 kids) 3 going to schools.
considering western/English schools.
Is it a good offer?
Best Regards
Fitness membership is monthly 300-400 QAR in the GYMs. It might be 200-250 QAR if you register for 3-6-12 months. 5star hotels asks 1000+ QAR
1 egg costs 1 QAR here... Frozen chicken costs 10-20 QAR in the markets... I do not know how many you need for a day therefore you should calculate for yourself.
I allocate 3500 QAR montly for my expenses (excluding transportation and accomodation)
You will receive 5800 QAR as a net salary and the company will provide you accomodation & transport ??? If this is the case, it might be acceptable i think...
Otherwise, you have to spend 1500-2000 QAR for a bedspace in shared accomodation and 500-1000QAR for transport therefore you will have a 5800 - ( 1500 + 500 ) = 3800 QAR which is approximately 1000 USD.
Now i want to write my comments for the prices which i think that they are wrong:
1)Restaurant prices seems acceptable, i visit all kinds of restaurants ( cheap indian, turkish, fastfoods and fine dining restaurant)
2)Market prices seems also acceptable but only beer prices are high. Beer is sold in Qatar at only QDC Qatar distribution center and one bottle/can beer cost 8-10 QAR. I do not smoke therefore i can not comment for cigarette.
3)I have a rent a car so i pay 1625 QAR per month (mazda3)...I fill the depot 4 times..Fuel has been increasing slightly every month last 2 years... One depot cost 80QAR for me so 4x80 = 320 QAR... Taxi prices seems correct, but i did not use a taxi last 2 years. I am using uber and prices are fair.
4) My house rents includes all the utilities so i do not pay but 250 QAR is correct for water + electricty (kahra + maa)... House internet is also 200 QAR per month.
5) Cinema prices is correct, 40 QAR is a normal type but if you increse the standards such as 3D or IMAX it also increases to 80-150 QAR...Again my suite provides me a gym so i do not pay for gym but i know the gym montly rent is around 400 QAR.... Cheapest gym might be around 200-250 QAR...
6) I do not have a child , unfortunately i do not have any idea.
7) Clothing is more expensive compared with my country, thus i did not buy any clothes here first 4 years... I was buying when i visit my country... But i discovered some brands such as columbia is cheaper (nearly 1/3) so i started to buy clothes from such brands.
8) Rent is the biggest expense here...I pay 5000 QAR for a suite and i am quite happy... You can find a bedspace for 1000QAR... It says 3bedroom apartment is 11,6k QAR in the centre but you can find 3-bedroom apartment for 6000QAR in al mansoura/bin omran/doha jadeed....Also Ezdan provides cheap accomodation in especially al wakrah which is 30-40 minutes to Doha by car...I am trying to explain that pearl district is the most expensive place and there the prices are 6-7k for 1bedroom, 9-10k for 2 bedrom and 12-13k for 3 bedroom
9) Expats can not buy properties in Qatar thus do not bother for this item...Expats can only deal for 99 years in pearl district.
10) Salary i should not comment... in my project, basic nepali workers get 1000QAR but our PD gets 140k QAR...
I can answer if you have any questions about doha.

In India my sal is 12 lakh per annum, I got a job in Doha Qatar of 15000 qr pm (inclusive all) is it feasible to accept a offer? I am planning to move alone, what will be expenditure and how much I can save? Please guide me..
Your biggest expenditure will be on rent and children education. Still the salary is good enough that you will save atleast 8k - 10k pm, considering you have a moderate style of living
If rent and transport is included then it is a good offer. You will save more if you prep your own food a

I have an opportunity to work in Qatar Doha and company has been offering 7700 riyal/month + Accommodation (Car,Petrol,Medical,Home rent). And i am pure vegetarian. my living style is normal. so is this good package or i need to ask for more salary?
Please advise.
What do you mean by day rate? Is this usd 590 is per day salary andthe other usd7000 are the allowances? If so, then it will be a nice package. you should plan to move here. But keep in mind that Schooling is also expensive here.
You will be very comfortable about yiur children here, dont worry.
Good luck.
I've been approached by a recruiter for a 22 month contract role in Doha (Engineering). Offer is day rate of USD590 with a monthly allowance of USD7000 to cover housing, transport, schooling etc. Package also includes for flights, medical and insurance for me and my family.
Would this be sufficient for a family of four (kids are 9 and 7) and is this a part of the world I would be comfortable allowing my daughter to be exposed to?
thanks
Nath

I got job offer in dhoa city with 9000QAR. Engineer role.my agency told me company will provide accomudation. Can any one help company is provide labour camp or we can stay sharing houses. Company allowed sharing houses for engineer?.
To save 25lakhs/yr, you need to have minimum 16,000QR/month salary. Lets say you spend approx 4000QR/month on an average(which can be reduced/increased based on your lifestyle), then you will save approx 14,000QR/month which will lead to savings of 25lakhs/year.
Thanks.
what should be my annual salary in Doha to have this much (25 lacs/year) saving.
How much QR can I save in a month ?
Can someone please suggest
I am living in Qatar for past 2 years. From my experience, 13K Qrs + incentive is very good package. You can have good savings in your pockets for sure....
