The wages are about 2000 EUR per month. Due to this value it overpassed cities from Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic.
the average wage in Cluj-Napoca is about 2000 euro/month gross wage.
Netto is around 1500 euro/month.
It is higher than in Greece.
Local purchasing power is better than in Budapest, Krakow, Bratislava..or Thessaloniki.
Cluj is a great city, for sure, but the comments saying that the average salary is anything like those mentioned, are absolutely incorrect.
Unfortunately, this perception has led to the rise of prices and expenses for everyone, making it almost impossible for the average Romanian person to have any comfort of life or even afford basic rent.
Foreigners need to realize that Cluj is still a Romanian city, a great one yes, but doesn't mean the prices should be like in Paris or Berlin.

just to name a few companies, great city
I can describe it as modern, with unique development that unites Parcul Mare’s historic lineage with the thoughtful integration of modern design and urban living.
City center is great, with contemporary design and modern amenities fit for everyday urban living.
The residents and visitors of Cluj-Napoca alike will enjoy the serenity and natural beauty of city center and natural surroundings.
Comparable with Vienna, Berlin or Prague.
I'm Dutch from Amsterdam (the Kingdom of the Netherlands) and I impressed by the quality of life, education and culture or Romanian people from Cluj-Napoca.
It's the best quality life city from Romania and comparable to Vienna.
It's better than Italian cities like Rome or Venice.
People here are well known for their kindness, smart, multi-lingual skills.
It's 100% Romanian in all aspects and a living proof business, culture and education can make from a city success!
All the best in your Romanian adventure!

yes, indeed Cluj-Napoca (Koloszvar) is much more developed than any Hungarian city, except Budapest.
In Cluj-Napoca the average wage gross is more than 2000 EUR per month. Netto wages are more than 1500 eur/month.
Renting is expensive, but this city has quality of life. People are very friendly and open. Huge investments are made in IT and industrial production here because of best universities from this part of Europe.
Hungarian turist in Romania,
Attila
I can only recommend this high standard city - most developed city in Romania!
Yes, the high average wage is above 2000 EURO, this city is very fast developing with new airport over 4 million passengers with connections to France and other cities from Europe.
I like the city, has warm people, good wages here, high quality of life, better than in Paris or Lyon.
People can speak several languages English and German and French are usual.
There are so many companies like Porsche, Bosch, Emersson, de Longhi.. for expats is a wonderful city.
Come to Cluj-Napoca and enjoy Untold festival also.
