980 € netto is definitely not enough to have a normal life in Bratislava. Cost of living is quite high. Rent starting around 600 €/month (maybe in some parts a little less) does not leave you a lot from 980 €. You have to pay for food, public transport if you dont have a car and so on... That would be really tough life.

Since 2023 March - It's now officially part of West Ukraine.

Heaps of Ukrainians - can be a good or bad thing depending who you are

4 euros for 10 eggs - what is going on there?

Lol, good luck to find a flat for EUR 640, you can add 100 or 150, rents are getting very expenses.

Bratislava is a sleepy capital and very different from a Budapest or Prague.

The issue now as of September 2022 is like what we are seeing in Budapest and Prague too, low supply of rental units caused by a lack of building. Takes a while to get a building permit apparently.

The office building complex down the street from me about 500meters took 23 years from start to finish to build and changed contractor twice during the process.

I got job offer in bratislava. Is 3500 gross enough for 2 person?
Anonymous on Jul 10, 2022:
You should be able to get by with 1100 euros, but it's not a good salary IMO. Maybe try other Slovak cities with the same pay, or Vienna with higher pay.
