Why live in Baghdad since it's so expensive then.
Tul on Jun 02, 2020:
It is much much more expensive to live in Baghdad. If you choose to in a decent neighborhood then the rent is around $1,250.00/month, generally no less than $1000/month. Electricity all private with average expenditure of $500/month for 3 bedroom apt or small house. For big houses (5bedrooms) electricity exceeds $1000. Decent restaurants about $30/person. I have lived in the united states and can definetly rank baghdad as more expensive than Texas living index in general but baghdad is cheaper tha san fracisco or chicago or NYC

In my opinion, generally these are acceptable approximate figures for foreigners planning to visit the country and it can be applicable for middle class local families.
