Hello, I have been living in porto for the last 9 months. I am spending on rent about 250 euros. Its a shared room in a house. One can get for even less, but the space and comfort might be an issue. And the transport is based on zones here, so bit complicated and I have a Z4 that covers four zone cost about 48 euros per month. Coming to the food, based on your lifestyle. I cook mostly and take my lunch to office sometimes so I spend around 200 euros on food per month. and drinks and partying as much as you can. You can enjoy with less than 100 too, there are places you can hangout all the time. Hope it helps some people who are looking to move to porto. ( this is for a single guy)

Its impossible to put a price on a 6Mbps internet connection in Portugal, since the minimum is 30 MBps (at least since 2013), and with a TV channel pack included (from 60 to 140 TV channels). All this (30Mbps, average 100 tv channels) costs from 25,90€ to 35.90€.

So, 6Mbps, internet only costs an average 5€.

Hi all,
I want to relocate to Portugal this year.
Looking for a safe, quiet and not expesive place in Portugal. Fishing its my pasion, so must be closer fron the beach or a river (lake). The employment opportunities are not important for me becouse I'm freelancer.
Thanks in advance for all sugestions.
Best regards :)

a)it would be better if salaries were comparable, i.e. the minimum a teacher in the first grade gets in a public school, or a worker in an industry or a technician in electronics who is hired for the first time or a woman who is hired to clean by the hour. In Greece for example I have friends who get 1200 for the same job somebody els gets 1800 or 900 a month. Its not easy to say the medium salary even in your one country.
b)prices for olive oil (which is very important for medieterranean people) are not listed
c)some might also appreciate the cost of universities -in Greece most of the universities are public, so you pay only for the books. But in most of the other countries there are fees.
d)also interesting for older peiople or people with health issues is the cost of a visit to a doctor -in Greece you give 50-100 at his office and 70-150 if he visits you at home. A blood count, if you don't have insurance, even in a hospital, costs 15-30 euros
