Don't listen to the guy below. He is bringing politics because he is frustrated for whatever reasons
Do your research, this is not a place to inform yourself.

Spaniard here, there's a massive exodus happening rn cause salaries are an absolute misery, we have one of the worst unemployment rates of the entire EU with a 25% youth unemployment and it's financially impossible to buy a house. Rent is also high of course, which means you will live in one of the outskirts of the city... and no, they are far from save, but media coverage is so biased and hide so many t..r.r.st attacks is not even funny (stay away from Vallecas and Carabanchel specially)

We have one of the most corrupt governments in the EU by a long shot, with taxes that range from 40-70% (That's not an error btw, it's genuinely that), so no... we don't have good quality of life... we have an astonishing country with great climate, lots of resources, a beautiful language, awesome people, ... that's slowly being destroyed by one guy who tramples with elections and makes policies just to get votes and achieve his communist dream...

Like, you will have a blast and you will enjoy life, but you will own nothing in 20 years time and there won't be even Spaniards in the country left... Just enjoy it while you can

Probably one of the best capital cities to live in worldwide. Great infrastructure, transport system is impeccable, reliable health system, weather can be a bit extreme in summer and winter but generally sunny. Clean, organised, efficient with lots to see and do. People are usually friendly albeit on the fair-weather side. What makes it particularly attractive is the open-minded, tolerant and inclusive atmosphere which makes you feel at home almost instantly. It has now become too expensive and way too busy so I felt like I had to leave after almost twenty years living there.

8/10 city

Great public transportation, bad but not terrible cycling infrastructure. The city is beautiful and very walkable, and the suburbs are well-connected. The airport is among the best.

Good weather and friendly people on the outside, but Spaniards turn out to be pretty close-minded.

Friendly and helpful people, great climate, and lots of opportunities.

Who could ask for more ?

@Anonymous Summer is either oven or muggy humid mess anyway in warm throught the year places (only them receive high ratings), except coastal California and Portugal of course (and these places have higher rating anyway, very close to 100). And degree of oven there isn't that high, for example 30 C evenings are during heatwaves only, and they often are a bit windy (compared to still evenings in humid places) and without humidity so they feel like +27, which is not that bad, though A/C is still needed for sleeping.

Madrid overall has one of the best climates among European capitals, because of decent amount of sunshine and light, undisturbing rain pattern (sparse, but still not desert, and decently spread compared to Lisbon with excessive winter rain).

Real ovens are Las Vegas or Phoenix with 40+C highs as a norm. And the worst experience is humid ovens as in UAE or Qatar...

Climate index Very High? Really? Well, if people like living in an oven... To me +30 during the nighttime isn't a sign of a good climate
