I've lived in a number of cities in NZ but spent most of my life in Invercargill. Having just come back from a trip though London, Scotland, Paris, Florence, Rome and Athens, I must say, how nice it was to come home. I think the 1st thing you notice is the clean air, but then you realise there's traffic rules here that work and about a 20th of the traffic, houses are beautiful and seperated, the land is beautiful, the streets are almost twice as wide as most of the places we went. People are considerate, we can leave our door unlocked during the day. A croissant get served with something inside if it's breakfast, slice it open and put some tomatoes and cheese on for goodness sake, or offer butter and jam, never, and I mean never serve a croissant by itself. Our food is far superior to Paris and Rome while all or our restaurants are all different, even the Indian ones, which was horrible in London. My appreciation for Invercargill increased 10 fold after our trip. Europe is lovely to visit but I would never live there.
